We are pleased to offer this superb antique Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen, Stand & Ladle. The pattern is listed as number S682 and dates to the late 1800's to early 1900s.
The Marina pattern is rendered on the Spode Royal Jasmine body which had a pale yellow glaze. The brown transfer ware floral design is stunning in this combination of pale yellow and brown.
The focal point of the Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen, Stand & Ladle is a lovely display of full bloom tulips surrounded by flowering vines and clover. The border is gently embossed/raised features cabbage roses, peonies and delicate flowers accented with a feathery plume of Victorian scrollwork surrounding primroses, daisies and other small flowers.
The border design is carried over to the tureen itself and ladle. The body of the tureen also has a larger floral design all coordinating magnificently!
The gently scalloped rim is a raised dragoon, the handles on the tureen have flowers in bas relief. The filial of the lid is one massive carved floral design. The rectangular tureen has a slightly bulbous body. The footed base of the tureen is formed by each of the four feet scrolling inward toward the other, meeting in an arch at the center point. The feet themselves have an unadorned fancy scroll design complimenting the piece in a subtle yet elegant manner.
Before you read any further, the Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen, Stand & Ladle is in Mint condition. The pieces of this Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen, Stand & Ladle set show no chips, cracks, crazing or wear to the graphics. The only things that we did see are the following: one less than pencil thin scratch in one of the curved depressions of the tureen stand/platter, and two very small, less than a pin head size glaze pops in the lid. The set is in stunning condition and looks to have been very gently used, well cared for and stored with packing materials. The original box, in which we found this set has Careful and Tureen Set hand written. The pieces were wrapped in fabric towels, the ladle in its own pull string pouch, all of which were surrounded with packing peanuts.
The Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen, Stand & Ladle date to the period of the late 1800s to the early 1920s. The pieces (with the exception being the ladle, are marked in brown with the Spode castle mark, and Copeland, Spode, England, Marina, S682, Spodes Royal Jasmine The pieces also have. an impressed Copeland Spode Imperial mark. There is an actual scan of this mark.

Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen Stand: This piece can also be used as a platter, It measures 16 inches in length, 11-3/4 inches in width. It stands 1-7/8 inches in height.
Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Ladle: The ladle measures 10-3/4 inches in total length. The length of the handle only is 8-5/8 inches. The bowl of the ladle measures 4 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches in depth.
Antique Spode Royal Jasmine Marina Tureen: The tureen measures 13 inches from handle to handle. Measured at the longest and widest points, the length is 10-1/4 inches the width 8-3/4 inches. The opening of the tureen measures 9-1/4 inches in length, 7-3/4 inches in width. The piece stands 5-7/8 inches in height without the lid in place, 9-1/8 inches with the lid in place.
