Vintage From Paul is delighted to offer this lovely, first in a series of four plates from Aynsley, depicting scenes from the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. The collection was designed by Lawrence Woodhouse, and is signature can be found on the lower edge of the graphic.
The series has bodies of white bone chins and a gently scalloped rim trimmed with 24 carat gold. The rim has alternating renderings of festive green holly, red berries and mistletoe. At the top is "Christmas done in gold and red, outlined in black. At the base of the plate is the year, done in the same style as "Christmas"
The center of the Aynsley Bone China 1979 Mr. Fezziwig's Ball Christmas Plate depicts the gala scene "Mr. Fezziwig's Ball". There is a violinist in the balcony while the party goers beneath are dancing. The detailing is exquisite!
