The Prelude etch was made by New Martinsville Glass Company beginning in the mid 1930s. It was continued to be made into the 1950s, by that time, Viking glass was the maker, as Viking had bought out New Martinsville in 1943.

About New Martinsville Glass Company
New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Company was established in 1901 in New Martinsville, West Virginia. It was bought and renamed the Viking Glass Company in 1944. In 1987 Kenneth Dalzell, former president of Fostoria Glass Company, purchased the factory and renamed it Dalzell-Viking. Production ceased in 1998.
