An American Brilliant Cut glass decanter,thought to be from Quaker City Glass.

This beautiful American Brilliant Cut Gothic Arch & Hobstar Decanter sparkles with the elaborate deep miter cuts on the body and the base of the decanter. 

As designs became more elaborate, cutters added curved shapes to make their designs more graceful or dynamic. When the curved cuts meet, as in this example, it is sometimes called a "Gothic Arch". This piece has seven (7) panels on the body featuring the “Gothic Arch”,. Within the Gothic Arch are 12 point hob stars, with an unpolished center Between the Gothic arch panels there is a 4 step cut under an fan design. .

The base of the American Brilliant Cut Gothic Arch & Hobstar Decanter has diamond miter cuts arranged in a circle. Between these cuts are additional diamond miter cuts which lead upward from the base to the body. The long neck of the decanter has eight bevel cut panels delineated by zipper cuts. .

The stopper of the American Brilliant Cut Gothic Arch & Hobstar Decanter has deep miter cuts on the rounded top as well as the side. Alternating with unpolished fine cuts. The decanter itself is in Mint condition with only minor surface scratches on the base consistent with its’ age and being set on flat surfaces. The area where the stopper fits is chip free to the naked eye, but when examined with a loop, there are 3 very minor chips which can be seen with the loop. .

The stopper of the American Brilliant Cut Gothic Arch & Hobstar Decanter  is chipped at the end portion where it fits into the decanter itself, and when in place this is not visible. Fortunately the chipping is at the very end and does not affect the perfect marriage of the stopper to the American Brilliant Cut Gothic Arch & Hobstar Decanter. 

This American Brilliant Cut Gothic Arch & Hobstar Decanter is rises to a stately 15-1/4 inches in height with the stopper in place, 12-1/4 inches without including the height added by the stopper.
