Anchor Hocking Company was born of a merger of the Hocking Glass Company and Anchor Cap and Closure Corporation in 1937. The company is still in production today as a division of Global Home Products with its headquarters located in Lancaster, Ohio

Introduced in 1960, a large range of Early American Prescut items were produced until 1978 when most of the line was discontinued. This particular pattern is sometimes referred to as the "Star of David".
