Southern Potteries, Inc. (SPI) of Erwin, TN produced Blue Ridge Dinnerware Pottery and China (hand-painted dinnerware and accessories) from the late 1930's until closing in mid-1957.
The Blue Ridge Stanhome Ivy Cups measure approximately 3.75" diameter; capacity approximately 8 oz. Saucers measure 6.25" diameter.
These cups and saucers feature the beautifully simple and elegant Stanhome Ivy design. With their bright cheery red berries and bold green leaves, these classic hand painted pieces are pretty enough for special occasions and sturdy enough for everyday use. Beautiful collectible and wonderfully crafted by one of the great American potteries.
The Stanhome Ivy pattern was was initially made by Tennessee's Blue Ridge Southern Potteries, and later by Canonsburg Pottery in Pennsylvania. The china mark on these saucers read: "Hand painted, underglaze, Blue Ridge, made in the U.S.A., Southern Potteries," with a pine tree and mountain range logo. The number 131 appears to be on both saucers. Cups are unmarked.
