Vintage From Paul is pleased to offer these simply stunning Fostoria Needle Etch 94 Double Loop Champagne Glasses which were manufactured between 1898-1928. The needle etching is Number 94, Non-Optic, the stem is number 766. 

Stem Number 766 was also manufactured in in regular optic, non-optic and narrow optic during the same time frame. Being popular, Amber and Iridescent were added in 1916 as well as Mother of Pearl Iridescent in the 1930's an d 1940's. The Double Loop Needle Etching (Number 94) is frequently found on the Spencerian pattern blank from Fostoria.

From the beginning of the century to the 1920's, the needle etch technique was most popular. Needle etched glass was an acid etching technique applied to thin glass. In the needle etching process, a glass blank was coated with wax. A skilled setter used a complex machine to carve a repeating pattern in the glass, then the piece was placed in an acid dip to create the pattern.

Fostoria was an important makers of this type of glass, but there were many others including Bryce and Tiffin.
