Hocking Glass Royal Ruby Roly Poly Flat Ice Tea Tumblers
Vintage From Paul is delighted to offer these Hocking Glass Royal Ruby Roly Poly Flat Ice Tea Tumblers (before the merge with Anchor) in 1933.
The Royal Ruby color was used in several of Anchor Hocking's patterns and shapes. Anchor Hocking's R-1700 line was one of the earliest shapes used in Royal Ruby.
Royal Ruby was also used in the Bubble (1962-1964), Classic (vertical ribbed partyware), Coronation, Manhattan, Oyster & Pearl, Old Cafe, Queen Mary, and Sandwich patterns.
The Hocking Glass Company began in 1905 in Lancaster, Ohio, and its glassware was ubiquitous during the Depression era. Hocking started in hand blown glass and expanded into machine made glass in the 1920's. Bottles, tableware, lamp chimneys, and decorative glass ware were produced by Hocking. Hocking probably produced more designs than any other glass company of its time, making it possible for collectors of Depression glass to easily locate pieces at antique shops and flea markets. Hocking produced pressed glass, acid-etched patterns, and mold-etched patterns. By 1937, Hocking merged with several other companies to form the Anchor Hocking Corporation.
The Hocking Glass Royal Ruby Roly Poly Flat Ice Tea Tumblers stand 5 inches in height and they have a 13 fluid ounce capacity.
Each available Hocking Glass Royal Ruby Roly Poly Flat Ice Tea Tumblers is in superb condition, no chips, cracks, or other defects noted. The glass is sparkling.
