Vintage from Paul is delighted to offer this lovely Homer Laughlin Dogwood Liberty Shape Serving Platter.

The Homer Laughlin Dogwood Liberty Shape  is listed as Number L-613 and dates to the  to the early 1950's.

The creamy white body is decorated with lovely flowering and budding pink dogwood flowers   The outer rim has a subtle raised gadroon edge accented with gleaming 22 carat gold.

Each of the available Homer Laughlin Dogwood Liberty Shape Serving Platter is in mint condition, having no chips, crazing, cracks, scratches or other defects. The colors are vibrant, the graphics crisp and the gilding intact. These pieces appear to be unused.

The Homer Laughlin Dogwood Liberty Shape Serving Platter measures 11-3/4 inches in length.

Homer Laughlin's Liberty shape was manufactured in the 1940's and 1950's.  It has an edge which imitates a gadroonin.  Adapted from metal working, and used to create decorative elements for china and glass, gadrooned edges have repeating small pearle or bumps.  The Liberty shape was a redesign of the earlier Newell shape according to factory historian Jack Welch.  Homer Laughlin Liberty dinnerware was manufactured for Woolworth's,  and Sears & Roebuck.
