Imperial Glass Starlight Candlewick Handled Bowl
Vintage from Paul is delighted to offer this pristine condition Imperial Glass Starlight Candlewick Handled Bowl.
The ever popular Candlewick crystal pattern by Imperial is so simple and so elegant that it is as perfect today as it has been for the past 70 years. The glass is beautifully clear and the rim of small round beads is the only adornment. The beads are separated on the rim, unlike those of the Anchor Hocking Boopie pattern, where the beads are touching.
This fantastic pattern was intoduced by Imperial in the 1930s as Star Cut. From 1943-1948 the pattern was called Grey Star. Starlight and Grey Star had 6 to 8 points on the stars. Six pointed stars are found more often then eight pointed stars. Later the name was changed back to Starlight (the name we use today). Today both cuttings are mixed because there is very little difference between the two styles of stars. This lovely cutting can be found in a complete dinnerware service. Finding pieces to add to a collection is a challenge, but the results are well worth the effort.
The Imperial Glass Starlight Candlewick Handled Bowl is in pristine condition and appears to be unused.
