The piece stands 9 inches in height with the lid in place, 5-5/8 inches without the lid. The upper bowl diameter is 5 inches.
These jars are rare and due to their everyday use, subject to breakage. They are rarely in the superb condition of the piece presented here, making this jar a real find!
The piece however, after 120+ years however, is not without minor blemishes. There are two very small nicks (flea bites) to the underside of the rim of the lid. .There is also very slight edge roughness around the underside of the base of the lid and the underside of the base itself. The filial has three small bubbles enclosed from the manufacturing process as well as one diamond panel which has a small nick. The blemishes are minor and not readily visible.
