Vintage From Paul is delighted to offer this stunning, Lancaster Pink Depression Glass Lace Edge Mayo Bowl & Under Plate.

Lace Edge by the Lancaster Glass Company is very similar to Anchor Hocking's Old Colony or Open Lace which was made by the Hocking Glass Company from 1936 to 1938. The glass made by Lancaster was a better quality and tends to ring when you flick it with your finger. You definitely won't get that sound with the Anchor Hocking Lace Edge

Even though Lancaster Glass is sometimes referred to as one of the minor glass companies, Lancaster's Plant #2 is still in operation today under the auspices of the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation in Lancaster, Ohio. In addition, the Hocking Glass Company throughout the 1940s, '50s and '60s used many of the molds that were originally made by Lancaster for some of its lines. Hocking acquired controlling interest in the Lancaster Glass Company in 1924 and eventually dissolved the Lancaster name by 1937 after completing the final purchase. However, the name Lancaster and their exquisitely-made pieces live on.

The Lancaster Pink Depression Glass Lace Edge Mayo Bowl & Plate are in Superb, Mint Condition with no chips, cracks or signs of repair. The glass is sparkling, the lace edge intact.

The underplate measures 9 inches in diameter and it has a slightly recessed central well to accommodate the Mayo bowl. The Mayo Bowl stands 3-1/2 inches in height and measures 6-1/2 inches in diameter at the top.
