The backstamp, of which here is a scan reads; " Royal Swansea, The Coronation, Made In England, Fine Bone China"
Swansea, is a quaint little town off the English coast, and as the technique and manufacturing for china improved through the years, certain town or areas of England, became famous for the porcelain, pottery or china that designers would experiment with and produce. Early attempts at making a perfect china in England, centered around towns such as Nantgarw, Swansea and Coalport. They combined the talents of the previous three and came up with The Coalport Company.
In 1930, Coalport was bought by George Jones who then sold it to E. Brain (Foley) because of financial difficulties. The Coalport group continued making Royal Swansea English china tableware for another 30 or 40 years.
Coronation was discontinued in 1969, though the company made a few different patterns over the years. I believe the approximate date that your set was made, is probably around the early 1950's for Queen Elizabeth's coronation and not that of her fathers, King George the VII.
