Always of interest to the modernist, is the work done by the eminent designer, Don Schreckengost. Don Schreckengost, whose genius was matched by his graciousness, worked as lead designer for Salem China as well as the Hall China Company up until his death a few years ago. During the mid-1960s, he designed Noel for the Salem China Company.

Noel is a festive Christmas Tree decorated with blue, red and gold ornaments. Under the tree there are the traditional Christmas Gifts of a toy drum, fire engine, doll and gaily wrapped parcels.

Noel is manufactured on fully tempered glassware and dinnerware that is break resistant. They are dishwasher and microwave safe and resist stress from heat and cold. They can be used in the freezer.

Tempered glassware is more economical, thinner but stronger than regular glass to both mechanical and thermal stress. Because it is break-resistant, with a little care it lasts for generations.
