Moss Rose has a creamy china body against which a lovely rendering of a pink Moss Rose is set. The rose is so realistic as to even have a drop of morning dew on a lower petal.

Each available Universal Potteries Ballerina Moss Rose Cup & Saucer Sets is in mint condition with no nicks, chips, crazing, yellowing or other defects. The graphics are crisp, the colors vibrant. It appears these Cup & Saucer Sets were never used, or if so, ever so gently.

The Moss Rose saucers measure 6-1/8 inches in diameter; the cups stand 2 inches in height and measure 4 inches in diameter at the top.

The Universal Potteries Company was formed in 1934 in Cambridge, Ohio by a group of Cambridge businessmen. The company is best known to collectors for its Cattail and Ballerina lines.

The Universal Potteries Company sold many lines to grocery stores, movie houses and service stations for use as premium items. Cattail can be found in a variety of shapes. It can also be found on tinware, glassware and wood items. An oak kitchen table was available from Sears decorated to match the Cattail dinnerware. Ballerina was also widely distributed and decorated in many different decorations and treatments. - The Universal Potteries Company closed in 1960.
